"Photography leads me to search for the beauty and dignity in Nature. Combining that search with great light is the key to my photography."

"I have been doing photography since the early 1970s. It was mostly black and white at first with a home darkroom and a borrowed enlarger. Later I did color using Cibachrome chemicals and paper. Moving the printing to the computer in 1997 was a revelation as I could again see the process unfold and maintain control over the look of my final print. "

"In 1993, Kathe and I took our son, Matthew and daughter, Erin to Alaska. It was a wonderful trip that changed the way we thought about travel. We stopped planning trips to see cathedrals and castles in Europe and started looking for grand landscapes and wildlife. I also discovered that despite grand landscapes and wildlife in Alaska the best pictures of the trip were photos of the family."

"So I got serious about studying Photography. I discovered Galen Rowel and Mountain Light. The key to finding beauty in Nature wasn’t better trees and mountains but better light."

"But I didn’t get serious about showing my work until I retired in 2004. First step was a web page. I was accepted into my first juried show in Thousand Oaks, CA in February, 2006. Travel Light – a global perspective was a one man show at the Camarillo Art Center in June of 2006. Kathe and I had a booth at the annual Art and Jazz Festival in 2007."

"Now we are starting over after moving to Fort Collins in 2008.Fortunately, there is anabundance of both nature and great light here in Colorado."
