"It is remarkable to me how many lovely moments I've experienced and how much I want to share those moments with others. Most of us have felt and experienced these moments, but can we remember them?
WE may have seen the glistening, almost transparency of an iris' petal; the soft, subtle colors of a rose in the afternoon: the glow a wheat field has against a bright, summer sky; the gentle, almost elegant way a little girl's hair can fall about her face. The essence of these moments is my subject. These moments, and the anticipation of so many more, motivate me.
Through light and color, I choose to paint them, and to remember them.
As an artist, I've been fortunate to draw and paint moments like these most of my life. I'm largely self-taught, but did attend the University of Northern Colorado as a Fine Art major. My professional career has been mostly in technical illustration, but I've continued working in fine arts throughout my adult life.
After many years away from Colorado in 1993 my husband, son and I relocated back to northern Colorado. Colorado, especially northeastern Colorado where I grew up, has always been home to me.
Most of my work centers on the legacy left by my parents; to love the beauty of nature, the arts, home, and family.
