Watercolor and Oil

Diane was born and raised in Texas. She learned to draw at the early age of 3. Her parents would pass out paper and pencils to her and her younger sisters during the sermons in church to keep the young artists quite. She was usually known as "the artist" throughout grade school, junior and senior high schools. She attended North Texas State University and East Texas State University, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Art.

After school Diane and her husband Richard moved from Texas to Cheyenne, Wyoming where they raised their 3 sons. It was here in Cheyenne that she met with a number of golden opportunities to observe and learn about the West, both the past and the present. She feels privileged to be acquainted with several of the ranching families in the area. Their stories and way of life offer a rich bounty of ideas for Diane's artwork.

Diane has distinguished herself with her creative and passionate images that celebrate the American West. She has received awards for her work including Best Oil/Acrylic in 2007 and Best Watercolor in 2005 at the Western Spirit Art Show at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, the Mayor's Award in the Lines Into Shapes National Art Show in Estes Park, Colorado, the Artist Association of Northern Colorado National Exhibition in Ft. Collins, Colorado, as well as numerous other awards from Colorado, Wyoming, and Texas.

Diane is an associate member of Women Artists of the West and the Artist Association of Northern Colorado. She has studied with noted western artist John Fawcett for several years, as well as Scott Christensen. She exhibits her work at Deselm's Fine Art Gallery in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the Wild Horse Gallery in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, at regional and national art exhibitions, and in private collections throughout the country.

Diane and her family recently moved from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Fort Collins, Colorado.
